Vancouver, BC, June 21, 2021 – As part of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts’ philanthropic initiatives, ongoing support has been provided to Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon (RMH BC) since 2018. This May, SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts participated in the second annual Step Up for Families, a virtual fundraising campaign for RMH BC. This fitness-oriented fundraiser encouraged participants to walk or run 73km over the month of May. SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts pledged to donate $500 when a total distance of 73km is achieved by the team and this milestone was reached within the first week of the campaign. The SilverBirch team reached a cumulative total distance of 2,148.39km in the month.

The 73km symbolize the 73-rooms that the House has which provides accommodation to the families of children receiving treatment at BC Children’s Hospital. Donations will help support the families from across 200 communities in BC and the Yukon who stay at RMH BC annually.
