Site Supervisor (Saskatoon)

The Site Supervisor is responsible for providing overall site control for the project reporting to the Vice President, Project Management. As a key member of the Construction team, the Site Supervisor will organize the site planning, coordination and execution of a hotel soft goods renovation from start to finish.

This position is an 3-month project with a project completion bonus. Project starts mid June 2024 with an expected completion date of end of September 2024.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for performing advanced administrative duties as required to support the Vice President, Project Management and overall project.
  • Create and maintain schedule
  • Provide leadership that results in a safe work culture, responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction, and must understand and accept the importance and legal liability of the role.
  • Supervise and coordinate all site-specific construction activities and personnel and sub trades.
  • Train and monitor construction crews and subcontractors assigned to project.
  • Actively inspects job sites daily to ensure work by subcontractors matches drawings and specifications of the specific project.
  • Plan and coordinate trades to meet construction milestones and schedule
  • Create a safe jobsite with site specific plans, procedures, documenting and maintaining records
  • Assess trade performance ensuring project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements.
  • Communicate with and obtain information from engineers, designers, inspectors

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

  • Experienced in Commercial Tenant Improvement projects, or Hotel renovations.
  • Technical, interpersonal, communication, leadership, supervision, management, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Understanding and accurately interpreting Blueprints and Specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, be pro-active and tolerant to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and project leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • A customer oriented approach to work; ability to work effectively with different people.
  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders, including Guests.

Working Conditions

  • On site
  • Contract position for project duration estimated at 3 months

Experience and Education

  • 5 years experience commercial renovations, tenant improvements, or hotel renovations.
  • Intermediate MS skills (including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Project Management software (Procore/PlanGrid/Autodesk Build)
  • First Aid (OFS Level 1) Certification.
