Position Details:
Position Title: Room Attendant
Department: Housekeeping
Location: Delta Hotels Halifax Downtown, NS
Reports To: Housekeeping Manager
Employment Type: Union Hourly, Full-Time
Full-time: 28-40 hours per week
Rate of pay: $17.38 to $18.38
Shifts: Will include evenings, weekends and holidays
Start: April 2026
General Overview:
Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, at Delta Hotels Halifax Downtown, our Room Attendants are the heart of our guest experience, responsible for creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment in every guest room. Our Room Attendants attention to detail and care ensure that each guest feels valued and at home from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embrace all Delta Hotels standards and our Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Exceed the expectations of all guests (both internal and external) through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently, and politely to all requests.
- Help create a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation with peers and team leaders.
- Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner.
- Friendly and enthusiastic individual with a neat, professional appearance.
- Clean assigned guestrooms daily to standards after a successful training period.
- Be able to work independently to complete a daily assignment of guest rooms.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates exceptional guest service skills with a passion to continually anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills as well as a keen eye for detail are essential.
- Able to organize job tasks efficiently, be thorough and exact with details, provide quality guest service, and work with minimal supervision.
- Reliable and flexible to work varied shifts.
- Must be capable of handling a physically demanding workload, including lifting, pushing carts and standing for long periods of time.
- Reliable individual; flexible to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- A team player; able to communicate effectively.
