Laundry Attendant – General Overview

Under the direction of the Laundry Manager, the Laundry Attendant plays a key role in supporting the cleanliness and operational excellence of the hotel. This position is responsible for the care and processing of all hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms. As we transition to Delta by Marriott, the Laundry Attendant will be expected to meet Marriott’s elevated standards of quality and guest satisfaction while upholding SilverBirch’s commitment to service excellence.


Key Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute all hotel linens, towels, and uniforms in accordance with property and brand standards.
• Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment (e.g., washers, dryers, ironers); report malfunctions promptly.
• Inspect items for stains or damage; treat stains and discard unusable items per established procedures.
• Monitor inventory of clean linens and uniforms; restock storage areas.
• Process guest laundry requests and return completed items to guest rooms as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, including equipment, floors, and storage areas, following sanitation and WHMIS guidelines.
• Support the housekeeping team by delivering urgent linen requests and assisting with removal of dirty linens during peak periods.
• Adhere to sustainability practices, including waste reduction and responsible use of water and energy.
• Ensure linen care and presentation consistently meet Delta by Marriott’s brand standards.
• Participate in scheduled deep cleaning of laundry equipment and facilities.
• Attend departmental meetings and training sessions, contributing to Marriott’s “Spirit to Serve” culture.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications, Abilities, Skills, and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail with pride in delivering impeccably clean linens.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment—independently or as part of
    a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage ongoing laundry cycles.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Commitment to safety, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and a variety of shifts as needed.
    Preferred Education & Qualifications
  • Previous laundry or housekeeping experience; hospitality experience is an asset.
  • WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Familiarity with Marriott or Delta brand standards is an asset.

Full-Time Availability: 32–40 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $18.20
