Position Title: Food and Beverage Server

Reports To: Food & Beverage Services Manager
Employment Type: Hourly Full-Time
Availability: Full-Time: 25 – 40 hours/week
Rate of Pay: $16.87 per hour, plus eligibility to receive tips
Start Date: April 2026
General Overview:
The Food and Beverage Server plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining and beverage experience to our guests. This includes service in restaurants, lounges, banquets, and lobby outlets. The position is responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient service while maintaining high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and safety. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and provide professional, prompt, and courteous service throughout their dining experience.
- Take food and beverage orders, serve meals and drinks accurately and efficiently, and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Provide menu knowledge, suggest daily features, and promote up-selling opportunities including wine and beverage pairings.
- Set up, maintain, and clear banquet and dining areas according to service standards
- Ensure Grab & Go stations or other assigned outlets remain clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
- Monitor inventory levels, replenish supplies, and report shortages to management
- Accurately process guest transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle cash, credit, or room charges as per policy.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines including WHMIS and Responsible Beverage Service standards.
- Assist with banquet setups, teardowns, and service for meetings, events, and private functions.
- Support teamwork and departmental goals by collaborating with colleagues and attending staff meetings.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, brand standards, and applicable union guidelines.
Other Abilities, Skills and Competencies:
- Previous food and beverage service experience required, banquet service experience considered an asset.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and hold a Responsible Beverage Service Certificate (or obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for guest service.
- Knowledge of wine and cocktail service is an asset.
- Ability to multitask, remain organized, and stay composed in high-volume environments.
- Reliable and flexible to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
- Barista experience is considered an asset for this role.
Working Conditions:
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
