Assistant Site Supervisor

Join our team for a 11-month contract hotel renovation project. We are looking for a motivated Assistant Site Supervisor who will play a role in overseeing the renovation of the Delta Bessborough while also doing hands-on work to ensure the project runs smoothly and safely.

This project has an expected completion date of end of December 2026.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Operate and maintain construction tools and equipment.
  • Safely remove existing materials and assist with the installation of new components.
  • Conduct basic repairs and touch-ups during the renovation process.
  • Assist with site clean-up and maintain workplace safety standards.
  • Responsible for performing administrative duties including time keeping and approval for all general labourers.
  • Communicate with management regarding project timelines and provide updates.
  • Supervise and coordinate all site-specific construction activities and personnel and sub trades.
  • Create a safe jobsite with site specific plans, procedures, documenting and maintaining records.
  • Communicate with and obtain information from designers, inspectors.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

  • Experienced in Commercial Tenant Improvement projects, or Hotel renovations.
  • Technical, interpersonal, communication, supervision, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Understanding and accurately interpreting specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, be pro-active and tolerant to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and project leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • A customer oriented approach to work; ability to work effectively with different people.
  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders, including hotel guests.

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 3 years experience with commercial renovations, hotel renovations a plus.
  • First Aid (OFS Level 1) Certification required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; familiarity with construction practices, carpentry skills, including framing, drywall installation, and finishing work is a plus.
  • Intermediate computer and MS skills (including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
