Vancouver, B.C, January 14, 2016 – SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce that it has raised a total of $36,040 for the annual Friends in Need holiday campaign helping local charities across Canada. During the holiday season, 10 participating SilverBirch hotels offered guests special holiday rates, with $10 from each room booked during the week of December 21 to 27 going towards each hotel’s local charities of choice.
“This was the 16th anniversary of the Friends In Need campaign and we want to thank our guests for their continuing support,” says Steve Giblin, President & CEO of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts. “Thanks to the commitment of our hotels and staff, this year’s campaign surpassed our fundraising goal by 150 per cent with all proceeds supporting local programs in each of our hotels’ communities.”
To date, the Friends In Need campaign has raised over $1.26 million, benefiting charities across Canada. This year, the organizations benefiting from the Friends in Need campaign are BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, First Baptist Church Community Suppers, RSA – No Child Left on the Sidelines, Make A Wish Foundation, Bryony House, Edmonton Humane Society and Fort McMurray SPCA.
