SILVERBIRCH HOTELS & RESORTS CELEBRATES ITS TOP PERFORMERS OF 2009
VANCOUVER, BC (June 28, 2010) – SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, one of Canada’s leading hotel management companies, recently recognized its best hotel teams and associates of 2009 at their annual leadership conferences in Whistler and Edmonton. Winners were selected from the company’s 24 properties across Canada.
The theme this year was “Drive the Experience”, a reflection of the company’s focus on improving guest experience.
“Delivering an exceptional guest experience is what drives and motivates all of us” said Robb Walker, Senior Vice President, Operations. “All of the nominees and winners this year exemplify this commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for all of our guests. We are particularly proud of the individual and team award winners who have demonstrated outstanding performance and their achievements are a testament of their commitment to the SilverBirch values”.
The year’s General Managers Conference was held at the Hilton, in Whistler, BC. Major award winners were:
Associate of the Year – Emilia Galeano, Lead Guest Service Agent, Mayfield Inn & Suites. This award is given to a non-management associate who has demonstrated extraordinary customer service and involvement in the community.
Hotel of the Year – Radisson Hotel Edmonton South - This award is given to the hotel demonstrating the highest level of excellence in profitability, guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction and quality.
Cultural Spirit Award – Radisson Hotel Edmonton South – this award is given to the hotel that achieves the highest Cultural Spirit Index as voted on by the team at the property. Cultural Spirit is an indication of the morale and overall culture of the team.
Guest Satisfaction Award – Cascadia Hotel & Suites – this award is presented to the hotel that achieves the highest guest satisfaction ratings.
The Director of Sales and Revenue Managers Conference was held at the Mayfield Hotel & Suites, in Edmonton, Alberta. Major award winners were:
Director of Sales & Marketing of the Year – Melanie Stroh, Saskatoon Inn- This award is given to the Director of Sales and Marketing that shows strong leadership and identifies the best revenue opportunities to achieve maximum Revpar.
Revenue Manager of the Year – Ali MacGillvary, Best Western Charlottetown & Citadel Halifax - This award is given to the outstanding Revenue Manager of the year who applied successful revenue management strategies to achieve maximum Revpar and improvements in their market.
RevMax Team of the Year – Stephane Morin (DOS) and Yan Lapointe-Bourassa (Revenue Manager), Hilton Montreal Bonaventure - This award is given to the team that effectively applies Revmax strategies and is instrumental in achieving sales results.
