CHIP Hospitality announces new GM for The Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre

EDMONTON, AB (September 4, 2007) - CHIP Hospitality is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Blackwell as General Manager of the Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre effective August 20, 2007.

Mr. Blackwell joins the Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre from the Delta Winnipeg, where he served as Director of Operations. Previously, he held the position of Director of Operations for the Delta Barrington and Delta Halifax. Prior to his start with Delta in 2000, Mr. Blackwell held various management positions with the Adam's Mark Daytona Beach Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida, Caesar's Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and the Sheraton Halifax Hotel & Casino in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

"Robert brings not only vast hospitality experience to his General Manager role, but his outstanding knowledge of and relationship with the Delta brand is also very valuable," says Tony Cary-Barnard, Regional Vice President of Operations at CHIP Hospitality. "We are delighted to have Robert lead our team at the Delta Edmonton South, and are confident that his contributions will undoubtedly be successful."

Mr. Blackwell has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Dalhousie University and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Guelph University and the Fast Trackers Management Development Program at Ryerson University in Toronto.

The Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre is located just a short drive from the International Airport, West Edmonton Mall and the downtown business core. Delta, Premier, Deluxe and Kids rooms, along with single-level and bi-level Jacuzzi suites are available, each featuring complimentary high speed Internet access. The hotel offers full amenities including a restaurant, lounge, pool, and fitness room. The Delta Edmonton South, home to Northern Alberta's largest pillar free ballroom and 21 function rooms, also provides full catering, banquet, and meeting services for up to 2000 people.
