Chef Joseph Dolby, Executive Chef, Quality Hotel & Conference Centre, Fort McMurray
Chef Joseph Dolby, or Chef Jo as his coworkers call him, is the Executive Chef at our Quality Hotel & Conference Centre, Fort McMurray, AB. Chef Jo earned his credentials at Canada’s prestigious Chateau Lake Louise, where he oversaw 120 cooks in 7 restaurants! Chef Jo made his way to Grand Cayman and made the Breezes by the Bay a culinary hotspot.
As Executive Chef in Fort McMurray, Chef Jo can be seen in the kitchen, visiting tables in the restaurant Table 63 and he is frequently seen at trade shows helping to promote his hotel. To me Quality means doing your very best each and every day.
Why is the Quality value so important to you?
Our guests are the reason we all work in the hospitality industry, they are why we come to work every day. Our guests deserve the best quality possible!
How does the Quality value guide you in your day to day life?
I believe that in order to be successful we all need to be the best we can be each day. I thrive to be the best at what I do, both personally and professionally every day.
Why do you think the Quality value is important to an organization?
As associates what we do on a daily basis is a reflection of our company to our guests. If we provide Quality service, food and experience then our guests will continue to return and will tell their friends. It is the best way to grow!
Can you share an example of when you witnessed an associate exemplify Quality?
Our front desk agents at the Quality Hotel & Conference Centre Fort McMurray are professionals in delivering quality service to our guests. They are the first and last impression of our hotel and they continuously go above and beyond to ensure our guests are having great experiences. If there has been something during a guest’s stay which doesn’t meet our guests expectations, the front desk staff ensure that they have addressed it and provide solutions.
What was the very first thing you learned to cook?
The first thing I learned to cook was Cream of Chicken Soup. I still make it!
