We are looking for a permanent, full-time Janitor/Houseperson at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Regina, SK.

 

The Janitor/Houseperson is responsible for the daily cleaning of all public areas in the hotel. Ensure that the guests are greeted with a spotless lobby, clean corridors, and immaculate rest rooms. In an orderly and professional manner, maintain an image of overall hotel cleanliness to encourage repeat business. This position will also be responsible for assisting in laundry and running amenities to the guest room floors. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning all public areas and guest stairwells
  • Daily, weekly and monthly job cleaning tasks which will be assigned on a regular basis
  • Cleaning of parkade stairwells, elevators and signage
  • Shampoo carpets in public space and guestrooms when needed as needed
  • Delivering sufficient quantities of clean linen to room attendant storage rooms
  • Vacuum carpeting including edges, corners, and behind doors
  • Ensure carpets are free of stains and holes; steam-clean as necessary
  • Ensure walls and baseboards are free of stains and marks
  • Dust furniture in public areas and ensure it is free of stains and tears
  • Ensure public rest rooms are spotlessly cleaned
  • Prepare maintenance repair orders as required
  • Daily, check and clean any stains or fingerprints on windows, along with the windowsills.
  • Assist in the laundry department as required
  • Clean lobby and guestroom light fixtures
  • Clean ceiling vents in meeting rooms
  • Ensure Guest Items are delivered to Guestroom in timely manner

Preferred Education & Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience is an asset
  • Previous hotel cleaning experience is an asset
  • Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize tasks

Working Conditions:

  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Must have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Must sign letter of employment, confidentiality agreement, and other documents pertaining to the position.
