We are looking for a Full-Time Permanent Banquet Captain at the Quality Hotel & Conference Centre in Fort McMurray

 

The Banquet Captain directs the banquet operations including service and set-up of service, partnering closely with the Banquet Manager, the catering department and the culinary department.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee banquet service operations, ensuring all banquet service details are executed;
  • Collaborate with Catering/Sales, Food and Beverage Managers and the culinary team to ensure quality service is provided;
  • Take an active role in the training and development of new and existing associates;
  • Ensure SilverBirch Hotels and Resorts’ core standards and service standards are maintained and followed at all times;
  • Anticipate and tend to all guest needs; respond to individual guest needs as they occur;
  • Communicate areas of need, problems and concerns from guests to Banquet Manager;
  • Be an active liaison between the guests and other associates to ensure outstanding customer service;
  • Reinforce a high standard of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety standards;
  • Assist with maintaining proper liquor controls;
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are being met at all times;
  • Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained;
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned;
  • Other related duties as required.

Preferred Education & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 6 months to 1 year of Hospitability or Food and Beverage experience required
  • Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to delegate tasks to team members and facilitate completion
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to recognize and correct guest service issues in a courteous and professional manner
  • Maintains a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and image

Working Conditions:

  • Fast paced environment; often demanding
  • Stand, walk and remain on feet and perform job duties for entire shift duration
  • Day, Evening, weekend and holiday hours as required

Wage:

  • $18.71 per hour plus gratuities
