History
Prior to March 1999, under another company name, SilverBirch's team primarily managed only third party owned hotels including those of CHIP REIT. In March 1999, the hotel management function was internalized as 36 management contracts were bought out by CHIP REIT. The REIT created CHIP Hospitality to manage it's assets and those of other third party owners. SilverBirch's portfolio is a good representation of the Canadian hotel industry and the company continues to outperform the industry in RevPAR growth.
In December 2007, SilverBirch became a subsidiary of bcIMC.
